[Laura takes her time debating whether or not to read Ford's file, when she gets it. There are pros and cons to each side, but eventually, she does look through it - mostly on account of how she can't figure out, so far, what it is that Ford needs. The file doesn't spell it out for her, either, but it does help paint the picture of who he is and why he might be here. And - maybe surprisingly, maybe not - she can see the logic in an awful lot of his actions. There's a through line there that she can read and understand, and also recognize as being ... well, unhealthy, to put it mildly.
